ThingsCon is Europe’s leading conference about the future of hardware, connected devices and Internet of Things (IoT). Started in Berlin it is growing into a global community of like-minded practitioners around Internet of Things and new hardware. ThingsCon fosters the creation of a human-centric & responsible IoT. To this end it provides practitioners with an open environment for reflection & collaborative action.
DRS2018, hosted by the University of Limerick and Limerick School of Art and Design, Limerick Institute of Technology, invites designers to explore these relationships across an exciting four-day conference from 25th- 28th June 2018. Building on the futures orientation of DRS2016, DRS2018 will explore emergent themes at the intersections of design research, design practice, design education and design policy.
Underexposed brings together design and technology practitioners to have hard conversations at the intersection of human-centered thinking, ethics, and computing. This year the event will once again feature an invitation-only workshop, as well as an open evening session for members of the public to join in the conversation.
I will host a workshop in which we will explore, discuss and develop scenarios that shape the future in a responsible way. Participants are young professionals (0-5 years experience) from various fields with an interest or stake in the development of smart cities. During the workshop we will develop and enact future scenarios to discuss various ethical issues.
During How Do You Do (HDYD) at Future Flux Festival, over 40 digital heroes from all over the world will share their ideas and tips & tricks. In rapidly alternating sessions they will tell you all about the development of their projects, the pitfalls and the roads to success from their own designer experience practices.
